Privacy policy

We collect the first name of the man the calendar is for, one photo of him, your email address, your delivery address, your order details, your messages to us, and basic technical information about your visit.

We use it to make and deliver the calendar, support your order, prevent fraud, measure our advertising, and meet legal obligations. We don't sell your information for money. We do share limited information with advertising platforms as described below, and you can ask us to stop.

Before you pay: his first name, the photo you upload, the answers you give while creating the calendar, the free preview image we generate, and your email address if you enter it. Plus technical information — browser and device type, approximate location from your IP address, pages viewed, and the link or campaign that brought you here.

When you pay: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you give one, the items and quantity, the amount paid, and a confirmation from our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number.

After you pay: the thirteen generated artworks, the print file made from them, order and shipping status, and any support messages.

The photo you upload is used to create the artwork. It's processed by automated image-generation technology, and it may be viewed by authorized staff for quality checks and support.

It's usually a photo of someone other than you. You need that adult's permission to supply it, and our terms require the person shown to be 18 or over.

We will not intentionally use your uploaded photo, or the artwork made from it, in advertising or public promotion without separate, specific permission from you. We ask for that on its own — it's never bundled into checkout.

To create the artwork; to review the order before printing; to print, assemble and deliver it; to supply the digital artwork; to email you about your order; to answer support requests and investigate quality or delivery problems; to detect and prevent fraud and misuse; to measure and improve our advertising and website; and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Service providers, and only what each needs:

• website hosting and application infrastructure;
• database and private file storage;
• automated image generation;
• printing, assembly and fulfillment;
• shipping carriers — name, address and contact for delivery and tracking;
• email delivery;
• payment processing;
• website analytics;
• advertising measurement, including the Meta advertising pixel on our pages.

Individual providers can change over time. We don't sell personal information for money. Where an advertising platform receives information about your visit, some state laws treat that as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising — you can opt out below.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

• Unfinished starts — if someone starts and never reaches a preview image, the record and any uploaded photo are deleted after about 24 hours.
• Previews that never became orders — kept for 10 days of inactivity, then every file is removed and the personal details erased, leaving only an anonymous record.
• Paid orders — the photo, the artwork and the print file are kept while we support the order, so we can reprint, replace or resupply your digital files if something goes wrong. You can ask us to delete them sooner and we will, once your order is complete.
• Order, transaction and support records — kept longer where accounting, tax, dispute-resolution or legal obligations require it.
• Backups — routine system snapshots are kept on a rolling basis, and deleted material can persist in them until they expire in the ordinary course.
• Digital download links — time-limited, so save your files promptly.

Our providers operate in several countries, including the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside the country you live in. We require providers to protect it appropriately.

Some US states give residents specific privacy rights, and which apply depends on the state and the size and activity of the business. Rather than make you work out whether a particular law covers you, this is what we'll do for anyone who asks:

• tell you what we hold about you and how it's used;
• give you a copy of it;
• correct anything that's wrong;
• delete your information, including the uploaded photo and generated artwork — subject to records we must keep by law, and bearing in mind that deleting it may make it impossible to complete or support an open order;
• stop sending you marketing email;
• stop sharing your information with advertising platforms for targeted advertising;
• never treat you worse for asking for any of this.

Email contact@hellofaman.com from the address on your order, or tell us the order number. We may need to verify who you are before we act, and we won't use verification information for anything else. An authorized agent can act for you with written authorization. If we refuse a request, you can reply and ask us to review that decision.

We use cookies and similar technology for essential site function, analytics and advertising measurement, including the Meta advertising pixel. You can manage cookies in your browser, though disabling some will break parts of the site. To opt out of advertising sharing, email us and we'll action it.

The Meta advertising pixel is not loaded at all for visitors in regions where prior consent is required for advertising cookies (for example the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland), or where we cannot determine the visitor's region.

If you opt in to marketing, every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and we keep a suppression list so you stop receiving them. Emails about an order you placed — confirmation, progress, shipping — aren't marketing and are still sent while your order is open.

Uploads and generated files are held in private storage that isn't publicly listable, and the links we give customers are short-lived and signed. We take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, though no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

This product is sold to adults, for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and our terms require the man in the photo to be an adult. If you believe a child's photo or information has been supplied to us, email contact@hellofaman.com and we'll delete it.

Your photo is processed by an automated image-generation service to create the artwork. There's no automated decision-making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. We don't submit your photo for use as public training material, and we're bound by the terms of the providers we use.

If you think we've mishandled your information, email contact@hellofaman.com and we'll investigate. You may also contact your state attorney general.

We may update this policy. The current version and its effective date are always shown at the top of this page.
